My son, Morgan’s, favorite place to eat in our home town is a place called “Musashi Japanese Restaurant”. It’s one of those places where the chef cooks all the food in front of you and usually does some sort of show along with it–making a volcano out of a stack of onions, flipping eggs so they land in his hat, and making all sorts of cool rhythmic banging noises with his utensils. But, Morgan’s FAVORITE part is the rice. He can eat by the bucket full. So, since we can’t afford to eat there every week, I came up with my own simple version of the rice he enjoys at this restaurant. Recently, he asked me to show him how to make it. How could I refuse?
Ingredients
- 2 Cups Minute Rice
- 2 Eggs
- 1/4-1/2 Cup Butter
- Soy Sauce to taste
Instructions
- Follow the instructions on making the rice and set aside
- Heat 1/4 cup butter in a large skillet or wok over medium/high heat.
- Scramble the eggs in the butter.
- Add a few shakes of soy sauce and more butter to the skillet.
- Add the rice to the skillet mixing it in with the eggs.
- Add soy sauce to taste.
- Cook stirring constantly for a couple more minutes.
- Serve and enjoy.
The Ingredients:
Heat the butter in a large skillet or wok over medium/high heat. (use extra butter to make it Morgan’s way)
Scramble the eggs in the butter.
Add a few shakes of soy sauce and more butter to the skillet.
Add the rice to the skillet, mixing it in with eggs.
Add soy sauce to taste.
Cook stirring constantly for a couple more minutes.
Enjoy!
We may not do all the fancy spatula flipping and setting things on fire like they do at Musashi Japanese Restaurant, but our version is very tasty!
