We are living in unprecedented times right now and I know we all get tired of the gloom and doom being reported day in and day out. I’m not a “pollyanna” that will try to put a positive spin on grim things, neither am I comfortable sticking my head in the sand and ignoring reality or pretending it doesn’t exist (although sometimes that seems like a viable option). But, being an eternal optimist, it my emotional, physical, mental, and peace loving NEED to hear about the good things too. Just like there is always bad news out there–there is always good news too. We need balance in “the force” now more than ever (eh? like how I included Star Wars there?). This is my attempt to find it and share it. Just click the links to read the stories–I hope you enjoy these stories as much as I do.
1.A 6 year old boy saves his sister from a dog attack. I’m sure many of you have already heard this story, but it bares repeating again and again and again. I love that so many have come out to celebrate him and call him exactly what he is–a hero
2.China is re-opening it’s movie theaters. I know it’s in China, but this give me SO much hope. I have actually been pretty ok overall with the restrictions we have faced, but no movies in movie theaters has been a tough one for me. There are SO many on the docket that have been postponed until we get on the other side of this thing. The fact that China is dipping it’s toe give me hope that in a very short while–we will too.
3. Washington Man Rescues 2.4 Millions Pounds of Farmers’ Crops. You gotta read this story. This is why I love America–George Ahearn saw a problem and rather than sitting around bemoaning all the waste and saying “what a shame”–decided to use his noggin and resources and helped solve it. I am so impressed!
4. Executive order signed by President Trump lowering cost of drugs. This is great news for anyone that has been paying through the roof prices on necessary medications–especially those on Medicare.
5. Teacher in England spent every day in lockdown preparing food for his students. I love this story so much. The heart that Zane Powles has for his students and how he went above and beyond because of his care and concern for them–we truly need more people like him in our world.
Feel free to share any good things you find and remember to keep smiling!
