I interrupt my regularly 5 Good Things post to instead share 5 Good Things About Our Country. With our presidential election coming up in just a few short weeks and all of the angst that typically surrounds it, I think we all could use a strong dose of remembrance of why our country and our democracy is so special. Regularly scheduled 5 Good Things will resume after this political season is behind us.
1. American Food. Wings, Mac and cheese, Corn Dogs, Cheeseburgers–are you kidding me? Does it get any better than that? I don’t think so.
2. Theme Parks. I’ve been to Six Flags, Disney World, and so many more. I LOVE our theme parks where you can scream to your hearts content on some of the most heart pounding roller coasters out there.
3. Religious Freedom. I am so thankful to live in a country where I can worship God, read my Bible, pray out loud, share my faith and go to church.
4. Public Servants. What would we do without them? Our police officers, fire fighters, and EMT’s are essential to our protection and well being. I am SO thankful for the men and women who risk their lives to protect mine and my loved ones.
5. Government Assistance Programs. We are so privileged to live in a country that has developed programs to help all of us in current needs and for our future.
What are your favorite things about our country? Feel free to share and remember–keep smiling!
