Sometimes it seems that’s there’s only bad news, but remember there is always good news too–it just takes a little searching. This is my attempt to find it and share it. Just click the links to read the stories–I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.,
1. Dad, how do I? Rob Kenney has a YouTube channel called “Dad, how do I?” that teaches or explains everyday things that might otherwise require a father-figure. He grew up without a father, and he started the YouTube channel to pass on “dadvice” to kids who are growing up without a dad. I just LOVE this so much!
2. A horse is rescued from a pond. Buddy the horse was stuck in a freezing cold pond in Loveland, Colorado. Rescuers used a crane to get him out and he is now recovering and doing well. Remember, Buddy–December is not good outdoor bath time in Colorado. We’re all so glad you’re ok.
3. 15 year old from Lonetree, Colorado is the Time Magazines first ever kid of the year. Gitanjali Rao is a very impressive young lady. She has been successful in finding solutions to societal problems such as cyberbullying and water contamination and was named Time magazine’s “Kid of the Year”. Wow! Way to go Gitanjali!
4. Secret Santa Pays Off Every Layaways at Mississippi Walmart. A person, who wishes to remain anonymous, paid off the layaways of 300 people at a Walmart in Canton, Mississippi. I LOVE stories like this. Can you even imagine going to pick up your items and finding out that you don’t owe a dime? I would love to see their faces.
5. “Go Build A Snowman”: School Superintendent Declares A Virtual Snow Day. Superintendent Gibson from West Virginia deserves an A ++++ for making the call to give all the kids in her district a snow day when the first snow of the season hit. I love how she encouraged families to go play in the snow and enjoy some hot chocolate–that they would “return to the serious and urgent business of growing up” the following day.
What good things have you heard about this week? Feel free to share anything you find and remember–keep smiling!
