Just like there is always bad news out there–there is always good news too. This is my attempt to find it and share it. Just click the links to read the stories–I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.
1.Wildfires In Colorado Getting Under Control. We have had several wildfires burning in Colorado this past month that has brought a lot of smoky haze to our city–not a good thing. Also not a good thing has been that because of the haze there have been several days of not even being able to see the mountains. But I noticed yesterday morning that the air was much clearer and I could finally see the mountains again–which is AMAZING news. So, I checked the news to see where they were in containing these fires and even though they still have a long battle ahead of them, they are making REALLY good progress–that is a good thing.
2. Unite To Fight Poverty. Compassion International, World Vision and Food for the Hungry are joining forces to host a live streaming concert Friday, August 28th. There will be dozens of artists performing and you can tune in to enjoy the music and donate. Proceeds will help vulnerable children, their families and their communities worldwide to overcome the challenges of COVID-19 and other disasters by providing basics like life saving food, health services, child protection programs, educational support and more.
3.Teachers turn desks into cars to make social distancing more fun. Two teachers in Florida have come up with a creative way to help their first graders adjust to the new safety standards for desks by turning the individual desks into cars. These are the cutest things! I just love their creativity.
4. A Teen in Tennessee Raises Thousands for Food Banks by Making and Selling Vanilla. I’m not sure what impresses me more: that someone can make their own vanilla or that that someone is a teen. What an impressive kid.
5. Creative Seniors Recreate Vogue Covers. Apparently there’s a trend on Tik Tok to recreate fashion covers of the magazine Vogue. I loved that this photographer got some senior citizens involved in it. This made me smile big.
Feel free to share any good things you find and remember to keep smiling!
