I know what you must be thinking–“I know what a burger is, but what does that have to with biscuits?” Let me splain…no, no, no that will take too long–let me sum up.
- 1lb ground beef
- 8 slices bacon
- 2 slices of cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
- Pizza Dough
- Brown ground beef
- Cook bacon
- Divide pizza dough into 8 equal portions
- Roll dough into 6-8" diameter circles
- Place ¼ cheese slice, crumble ½ bacon slice and ¼ cup ground beef in center of dough circles
- Fold edges of dough to the center and pinch together
- Place on greased baking sheet
- Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
The Ingredients.
Brown the beef.
Add the salt and pepper.
Cook the bacon.
Divide the Pizza Dough into 8 equal pieces(I use 1/2 of The Pioneer Woman Perfect Pizza Dough recipe) and roll out into 6-8″ diameter circles
Place 1/4 cheese slice ( I use Pepper Jack), 1/2 bacon slice crumbled, and 1/4 cup of the ground beef onto the center of the dough circle.
Fold the dough to the center and pinch together. (You may notice that there seems to be a little something stuck on the tops of two of the burger biscuits. Those are for my two boys–they don’t like the spicy pepper jack cheese, so I use cheddar. I have to mark them with a couple of pieces of the ground beef, since they all look the same once folded together.)
Place on a greased baking sheet and bake at 425 degrees for 10 minute.
You see there? It’s burger ingredients INSIDE a biscuit. Kind of like a bierocks only different. These are so, so good and great dipped in ketchup or mustard.
Also, I make a “healthier” lower carb version. Rather than pizza dough, I use Joseph’s Pita bread.
Nothing will ever be as good as the real deal, but these aren’t bad. I don’t think I’m going to get voted as “Low Carb Recipe Spokesperson” anytime soon.
