A weekly list of things accomplished, enjoyed, learned, tried and remembered.
I can’t believe we’re at 100 Coffee Breaks! That’s a lot of breaking for Coffee. Haha! Thank you for all who read these and comment. I appreciate your feedback so much!
1. A visit to the big store. Everyone in town is talking about the new big store in town–Scheels. I was so intrigued by the pictures I was seeing on social media, so of course I had to go check it out. One word described it for me: overwhelming. It’s HUGE. Not just huge, but GIGANTIC. I have never been in a single store like it. On two levels it has everything you could possibly want to purchase for sporting goods and outdoor activities–and I do mean EVERYTHING. They also have a full size Ferris wheel, a really cool aquarium, a restaurant, a candy store, a toy area, and some indoor furnishings. Good grief. As I wondered around, I just kept murmuring to myself–“this is ridiculous, this is absolutely ridiculous”. I loved it and I can’t wait to have a need to purchase something there.
2. More flag football. My boys are having a lot of fun playing flag football this season. They had a couple of frustrating weeks–playing teams that were far more experienced. But, this past week they got to play a team they were more evenly matched with and they had FUN. In fact, I think it was their best game yet. They all got to try out the skills they’ve been learning and experience the success of how practice and repetition kick in and lead to good results. I was proud of what good sportsmen both my boys were and I loved seeing them feel proud of themselves.
3. More gigs. Super Rockstar had two gigs this past week and I didn’t get to go to either of them. One was at the Air Force Academy golf course–so unless you know someone, can be vouched by that someone and then can withstand the rigors of the gate check personnel, it is not possible to enter the hallowed grounds. That’s ok–it was an outdoor one and it was really windy.
The second one was at Cave of the Winds. It was originally supposed to be an outdoor one as well, but with the threat of rain–they mercifully moved it inside. The boys and I were supposed to go to that one, but unfortunately my car has decided to be fussy about when it wants to start. I’ve nearly been stranded twice now–so we decided to sit this one out. Sigh. It looked like a lot of fun we missed out on though.

4. Fun activities for the boys. It’s been a busy week, with school starting to wind down and activities starting to ramp up. Morgan got invited to a party at Overdrive. It’s such a cool place where you get to race go-carts on a track. He and his friends got to do three races and also got to play some video games. He had a blast.
Grayson got to go to a church event at Skyzone Trampoline Park. When I picked him up–he had been jumping nonstop for 90 minutes and was all red faced and worn out. His favorite is playing the dodge ball games. I am SO grateful that our state has eased up all of the restrictions and the boys are getting to have some fun at places again.
5. What we watched. The Bourne Legacy, Reign of Fire, and The Seeker: The Dark is Rising–just click the link to see our thoughts on these movies.
6. My favorite memes of the week.
As always, I would love to hear from you. I hope you have a great week!
