A weekly list of things accomplished, enjoyed, learned, tried and remembered.
1. Summer Learning Time. Each summer I try to keep my boys up with some sort of learning. I’ve done everything from work books, to reading time, to organized activities. Last year I discovered an online learning “game” of sorts called Adventure Academy. It’s from the makers of ABC Mouse, but it is geared toward older kids. There is everything from a library of books to read, to history, science, math, writing–it has it all. You can create your own avatar and the character can explore the whole Adventure Academy world. The boys just love it. It only cost $45 for a one year subscription and that covers up to three kids. Just click the link and it will take you to their site where you can sign up and download it onto your device of choice.
2. Weekly Summer Movies at the Theater. Weekly summer movies are back at Cinemark–called the Summer Movie Clubhouse. We have been doing this every summer since my boys were in pre-school. The movies are every Wednesday at 9:30am and they show re-runs of favorite kids movies for only $1.50 each. It’s a great way to get out of the heat. Plus, our theater has a little splash pad outside for kids to play in so it makes for a very fun morning.
3. 4th of July at Grandma and Papa’s. I absolutely love our tradition of going to my folks house for 4th of July every year. They live in Kansas where most fire works are legal (they have restrictions on the big ones) and are allowed to be shot off in front of their home. It’s a huge deal for my boys to get to go to the fire works stand, choose from their enormous selection (their favorites are the tanks and smoke bombs) and then plot and plan with Super Rockstar and their Uncle Todd a fire works extravaganza. It’s a blast. Plus my parents home town has a so many fun parks to play in, a zoo, and the most favorite of all–a giant public swimming pool with a high diving board to jump off over and over and over again. We all had a great celebration and just loved our time with my parents and Steph and Todd.
4. Gig weekend at Boot Barn Hall. Another amazing gig weekend at Boot Barn Hall. If you have not checked this place out yet–you need to. It is a great place to go listen to live music and SofaKillers LOVE playing there. It was a fun weekend!
5. My Favorite Memes of the Week.
As always, I would love to hear from you. I hope you have a great week!
