A weekly list of things accomplished, enjoyed, learned, tried and remembered.
1. Celebrating 27 years of us. It’s hard to believe that 27 years have passed since Super Rockstar and I said “I do”. We were just young punk kids having no clue what we were doing, but believing with all our hearts, minds and souls that we knew it all. Ah…..youth. I love our story more than any that I’ve ever read. Like Princess Bride–it has it all–a prince, a princess, duals, triumphs, danger, true love and giants….well, maybe not giants (unless you count the excess pounds I’ve put on over the years). Here’s to us–I can’t wait to what will happen next.
2. A fantastic mountain getaway with family. My sister and her husband rented a huge cabin in the mountains for Labor Day weekend. All of their now grown kids and most all of their significant others were there, plus, my family AND our parents. It was the first time we had all been together in years and it was just awesome. We ate, we hung out and did a lot of catching up, there were hikes, visits to nearby mountain towns, fishing, and star gazing late into the night. And there was a long awaited epic nerf battle between my boys and cousin Taylor. He came armed and ready and they all had a blast. We even got to take some family photos that I’ll share more of at a later date. I stored up so many great memories and am so thankful we got to do this. Thank you Steph and Todd!
3. Barney’s Birthday. We don’t know our dog, Barney’s actual birthday, but we celebrate it the day we got him–September 4th. We have had him 3 years now and believe he is about 10 years old. He has brought so much character and a lot of laughter to our home with all of his quirks. He falls fast asleep anywhere anytime–snoring til the cows come home and after sleeping nearly all day looks forward to bed time (he is a dog after my own heart), he gets these “spurts” of energy that last anywhere from 12.2 to 59.8 seconds– during such spurts he will chase and fetch his favorite moose toy. We gave him a new rope toy for his birthday and he is just thrilled. He has severe separation anxiety and will howl as only beagles can when we leave him by himself. And if you don’t spend precisely the right amount of time scratching that spot on his back, he will swipe his paw on your hand and pull it back. We love you Barney. Happy Birthday!
4. What we watched. Just click the link to see our reviews on a TV show we love, one we didn’t care for, and a family movie we enjoyed.
5. My favorite memes of the week.
As always, I would love to hear from you. I hope you have a great week!
