A weekly list of things accomplished, enjoyed, learned, tried and remembered.
1.Cousin Time. I have many cousins–whom I had the privilege of growing up with and enjoying throughout my childhood. I love them all. But, Lori and Jill have always been special–we’re not only relatives, we’re close friends. We stayed close even when life took us all in different directions. And even though we don’t get to see each other face to face very often, we are still in each other’s lives–celebrating through the good things and holding each other up through the hard times. I was thrilled when Lori suggested a zoom call so we could catch up this past week. It’s been WAY too long. We are never short on conversation or laughter and there never seems to be enough time. I’m so glad to have these two in my life.
2. Daddy/Older Son Time. Our son, Morgan, has recently become fascinated (obsessed) with wanting to learn to hunt. Neither Super Rockstar or I have much experience with this, but we didn’t want to squelch it. So, being the awesome Daddy that he is, Super Rockstar found a way to do this with our son. He found an opportunity this fall for them to go on a father/son camping and hunting trip–where a guide will take them out and show them how to track and hunt a deer. To prepare for the trip, they both needed to become licensed hunters and that required a Friday evening and all day Saturday course on all things hunting and gun safety. I am so proud of both of them–it was a very intense couple of days, but, I’m happy to report that both of them passed their shooting test and written test and are now licensed hunters. Morgan’s proud smile says it all.
3. Momma/Younger Son Time. While Super Rockstar and Morgan were in a classroom on the north side of town, Grayson and I decided to go check out a museum on the south end. He just finished studying about WW2 at school and his class is planning to go to The National Museum of World War II Aviation for a field trip next week. The problem was–he was going to miss it since we are taking a spring break trip instead. I had no idea this museum even existed in our town and I am so glad we got to go. I wasn’t expecting it to be so crowded. The parking lot was packed and then we found out why–they were doing a flight demonstration of their Dauntless Dive Bomber and many folks came to watch. WOW! What a treat for us! It was a thrill to see it take off and then circle around. The museum is very well done and we enjoyed looking at all of their wonderful displays–so many cool airplanes and memorabilia everywhere. We had a great time. For me, time spent with Grayson is always a grand adventure. He’s just such a fun person to be around.
4. Movies and Shows to Watch. We found a really good family movie, a new to the boys tv series, and a new to me chick flick tv series. Click the link to read our reviews.
5. My Favorite Memes of the Week.
As always, I would love to hear from you. I hope you have a great week!
