A weekly list of things accomplished, enjoyed, learned, tried and remembered.
1.Back to School for Grayson. Our summer breaks often end WAY too early for my taste. Grayson started his last year of middle school early this month and as you can see from his photo’s–he’s thrilled.
2.A couple of new ventures for Morgan. Morgan is beginning his sophomore year and even though school starts later for him, the activities for high school ramp up the week before classes. He decided to try a couple of –new to him– things this year and spent the last week deciding which one. The first was theater. It was too late to audition for any parts in the school’s upcoming production of Oliver, but he is able to get involved with the tech crew. He spent some time helping them clean stuff out and organize.
He also has always wanted to try tackle football (he’s played flag football for several years). So, he got to spend this past week going to 3-hour-a-day practices (during a very hot spell for us in Colorado), wearing full gear and experiencing his first scrimmage. Ultimately, he decided that playing tackle football wasn’t as fun as he thought it would be, so he’s back to helping on the tech crew for the upcoming theater production. I’m just so proud of him for trying new things.
3.Date Night. It’s been a while since Super Rockstar and I have gotten to go out–just us. We decided to go see a movie–Bullet Train–at Roadhouse Cinemas. They are a dine in cinema and we really like coming here every now and then. Their food is delicious, the seats are super comfy and we had a really nice time. Plus the movie was really good (click the link on my Movies and Shows to Watch).
4. Homefront Military Network Gig. This is the second year in a row SofaKillers has played for these folks. Their mission is to “help service members, veterans and their families survive and thrive”–and they do a fund raiser each year. What a fun night! There were numerous local businesses that sponsored the event and every table was sold out.
It was also a special night because our good friend Carole celebrated a birthday this month. Happy Birthday Carole!
AND Todd–the original drummer for SofaKillers–was filling in for Dewey and did a fantastic job.
It was such a great night with a fun crowd who came out to support a great cause.
6. My Favorite Memes of the Week.
As always, I would love to hear from you. I hope you have a great week!
