A weekly list of things accomplished, enjoyed, learned, tried and remembered.
1. A Snow Day. I’ve been cheated! I’ve been robbed! What kind of cockamamie weather system causes 12″ of heavy wet messy snow to fall at the end of May?! There was only 2 1/2 days left in our school year. 2 1/2! I had plans for those precious hours before summer break gave way to the loud thundering of my boys storming through our home leaving tornado like messes in their wake. A whole day was stolen from me by an unwanted dumping of winter clinging on like some drunken party guest who just won’t leave.
2.Shake it up. Late in the night we looked out to see how much snow had fallen and were dismayed to see that our freshly leafed out trees were sagging down to the ground from the weight of the heavy white stuff. So, we donned our winter gear and Super Rockstar started shaking as hard as he could. Our trees survived, but so many others around our city did not fair as well–tons of broken branches. Ugh! This storm ticked me off in SO many ways!
3. And so it begins. We are now day 4 into our summer break. We have watched movies, gone swimming (indoor pool–the snow is gone, but not quite outdoor pool weather yet), had an epic nerf gun battle, engaged in several water gun fights, took the boys to Dart Warz , played basketball outside, played with play doh inside and eaten popsicles. As far as I’m concerned–we can call this summer a wrap. But, we still have 66 more days to fill. I’m not exactly sure how I’m supposed to get through this…
If you don’t hear from me next week–it’s because I’ve run out of ideas on things for my boys to do and am hiding in hopes they won’t find me. Have a great week!
