A weekly list of things accomplished, enjoyed, learned, tried and remembered.
1. Super Bowl. My Chiefs won…again! I mean, is there anything they can’t do? In all seriousness, I really was expecting the 49ers to win. I’m just thrilled it was such a good game. Thank you to our friends Rich and Steph for hosting such an awesome Super Bowl party. It was such an exciting game–I forgot to take any pics. Oh well. As a bonus Super Rockstar won the 3rd quarter pot for the betting squares. Woohoo!
2. Valentine’s Day. We have a few Valentine’s Day traditions in our home. It begins with heart shaped pancakes, I also make heart sugar cookies, and then we exchange homemade cards and get lots and lots of candy. My new favorite are the cinnamon heart shaped jellybeans. So, so good. Super Rockstar and I also got to enjoy going out to lunch. And then for dinner we enjoyed some wonderful steaks and grilled shrimp. I don’t know if there is any better way to say “I love you” than that.
3. President’s Day Weekend Getaway. My boys got a four-day weekend, so we decided to get out of town. We spent two nights at a hotel in Salida and got to go tubing at Monarch Mountain. You can go online to get tickets–they have it available just about every Friday-Sunday during ski season. For the four of us it cost $96 for an hour. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and we had a blast. We also got to go to some cool shops–our favorite is Rustic Woods Emporium in Buena Vista–about a 30-minute drive from Salida. And we enjoyed the hotel pool and hot tubs. Hotel selection was pretty slim–since it was kind of a last-minute trip. We stayed at the Loyal Duke Lodge. Let’s just say it wasn’t our most favorite place we’ve ever stayed. The rooms were small and cramped, the free continental breakfast was meager at best, and the indoor pool could only be accessed by walking across the parking lot in the freezing cold. We still had fun, but next time–we’ll plan ahead a little better and hopefully find accommodations more to our liking.

5. My Favorite Memes of the Week.
As always, I would love to hear from you. I hope you have a great week!
