All I can tell you about June is that we were SO ready for summer. We dove right into the lazy, sleep in, not do much all day schedule and LOVED it. Plus we got to have quite a bit of fun. Here’s our rundown:
1. Camping at Mueller State Park. We love camping here for so many reasons–it’s not a far drive (90 minutes from our doorstep), it’s beautiful, and the campsites are large with most having open space right behind them with gorgeous views. It’s also close to one of our favorite fishing spots–Eleven Mile Canyon. We enjoyed ourselves immensely–campfires, enjoying good food, and spending a lot of time on the river.

2. Styx, Kevin Cronin and Don Feldman. When we found out about this concert coming to Colorado we couldn’t wait to get tickets. One of Super Rockstar’s boss’s beat him to it and gifted us tickets (he and Super Rockstar share a passion for 80’s music, and his cousin is a guitarist in Styx). We were just thrilled to get to go and had an amazing time. It was like going to three really awesome concerts all in one night.

3. Father’s Day. My boys love their Daddy a lot, but their language of love is often thick sarcasm and relentless teasing. The cards they gave him were equal parts funny, insulting and crude. Don’t worry–he dishes it out to them plenty. I love listening to all the good-natured teasing that goes on amongst them.

4. Summer Football. Grayson had all of one week without doing a sport. If you ask him, he’d tell you that was seven days too many. He loves sports and especially loves football. He would play it 365 days a year if you let him. It started with a mini camp and then weekly 7 v 7 games.

4. Denver Trip and Waterworld. Our second vacation of the summer was going up to Denver to stay in a hotel (the Drury Inn–our favorite because of the free breakfast, pool and hot tub, and evening food/drink happy hour are all included) and spending a wonderfully hot summer day at Water World. The slides and the cold water felt amazing.

6. My One and Only Project. I was truly a lazy bum this month. Normally I dive into some impossible list of summer projects, but this year I just did one. I’ve been wanting a bird bath for our back yard and found one for super cheap at a garage sale. Three cans of spray paint later, and I had it set up. Not many customers so far, but I think word will get out soon.

7. Movies and Shows We Watched–Episode 101. Just click the link to read about all we watched in June.
8. Books I Read. I continue my way through the Sue Grafton Alphabet series–enjoying G is for Gumshoe. I also started reading a very large book called Trim Healthy Wisdom by Serene and Pearl (the Trim Healthy Mama sisters). I only made it through a couple of chapters, but it is very good educational information about nutrition, weight loss, hormones and how to get past the challenges that come with gals my age.

9. My Favorite Memes.

I hope your summer is going well. As always, I would love to hear from you.
