Can you believe it’s already March? It seemed like January lasted about a year and then February came in and whip lashed right passed us. Here’s what we’ve been up to the past couple of months:
1.The snow (or lack thereof). We got a giant dumping of snow on January 9th. Other than a few flurries and a unremarkable couple inches a few weeks later where we hit some subzero temps–that’s all we’ve had. It has been in the 50’s and 60’s for most of our winter. That is not only unusual, it’s just downright weird. I’ve heard the ski resorts are finally getting some much-needed snow, so that’s good news for them.

2. Sports Training. Grayson has been aching to train for football ever since the season ended back in November. We heard of a place here in our town called Ground Up Sports Performance. It’s run by two former College stars and one of them even got to play at the NFL level for a short time before an injury took him out. They do training for all sports year round and love to help athletes focus on strength, agility, and and speed. He is going once a week for now and LOVES it.

3. Fun at Overdrive Raceway. Grayson got to go to a birthday celebration at Overdrive Raceway. It’s an indoor go cart racetrack where drivers get to drive at a pretty high speed. Morgan got to join his brother after work, and they had an absolute blast. The prices are a little high in my opinion, but it’s a worthwhile fun place to go every now and then. I’ve heard they have deals on certain weekdays where you can play a lower price and it’s all you can drive. But I’ve also heard that it’s very crowded on those days and you spend most of your time in line watching races rather than participating in them.

4. Day Trip to Baily and Evergreen Colorado. We often like to drive to various mountain towns from time to time–just to check them out. We’ll stop somewhere and have lunch and maybe go to a few shops. This time, we found a fun playground/park in Evergreen and the boys enjoyed running around and playing just like they did when they were much younger.

5. Valentine’s Day. I think I’ve probably said this before, but Valentine’s Day for us is “get candy and cards day”. Super Rockstar taught us all the value of homemade cards and our boys like to express their sentiments in unique ways. Super Rockstar always wins the prize for most artful and creative, Morgan’s are always thoughtful words and expressions of appreciation and Grayson… Well, Grayson’s are always—unique. You would have to see them to truly understand. I love them all and the candy was especially delicious. It was a gorgeous day, so Super Rockstar and I went on hike in the forest too.

6. An Epic Nerf Battle. Every once in a while, Super Rockstar and I need to remind our boys who we are and what we’re capable of. It had been a while since we’ve had a good ole family nerf battle, so one Saturday afternoon Super Rockstar lured them away from their screens telling them he needed help with a project. They never saw our attack coming and it was epic. For the next hour we paid dearly for it as our boys pelted us with the stinging nerf bullets, but it was so much fun.

7. Books I read. I finished another Sue Grafton–M is for Malice. This one revolved around a wealthy family. When the patriarch dies, a search is needed for the black sheep of the family since he will get a cut of the inheritance. The other siblings are reluctant to find him and feel he doesn’t deserve his fair share. When he is found by Kinsey (the PI whom this entire book series revolves around), he is murdered days after reconciling with his family. Kinsey feels guilty for putting him in danger and resolves to find out who did it. There are some great twists and turns, and I admit–I had no idea who it was until the very end.

8. Movies and Shows to Watch–Episode 108. Just click the link to see the movies and shows we’ve enjoyed watching.
9. My Favorite Memes.

That’s all for now. I’ll be sharing my February Movies and Shows soon, so be on the lookout for that. In the mean time, I always enjoy hearing from you and your comments and suggestions for fun things to do and what to watch.
