A weekly list of things accomplished, enjoyed, learned, tried and remembered.
1.10 years of killin Sofa’s. One of the favorite gigs that Super Rockstar’s band, SofaKillers, plays is in a local neighborhood that puts on a summer concert series. Wolf Ranch was the place SofaKillers debuted 10 years ago. They played their first gig there calling themselves Days Gone By (shudder) (for that night only) to a small crowd that had gathered on the enormous lawn with a glorious view of the mountains and a nearby pond. They still have 4 original members in the band (keyboardists and drummers seem to only have about a 3 year shelf life. Haha. ) –and they have just gotten better and better over the years. Someone said there were 800 people in attendance this time–that’s quite the audience compared to 10 years ago. Congratulations on a decade of killin sofa’s guys!!
Ten Years ago:
This year:
2.Toy Story 4. We LOVED it. It’s everything you hope it will be and so much more– a great story, all your favorite characters, and a sweet ending. There are a couple of scenes that the littles might find a little frightening. ***Spoiler***They have included ventriloquist dummy’s as characters this time that play “henchmen” in a few scenes. It’s all fine and harmless, but they do have a bit of a darker feel to them and a couple of “boo!” moments. They added several other characters that are just awesome–we loved it all!
3. Church Camp. This week was church camp at our church. These things are MADE for my youngest, Grayson–group activities, songs and dancing, crafts and, most importantly, SNACKS. He had such a great time and even made a new friend.
4. Yellowstone. Super Rockstar and I are always looking for new TV series to watch. We tend to prefer action packed dramas that have shady characters with questionable morals, violence, and a drug deal thrown in here and there (what does this say about us?). Our favorites have been Breaking Bad, House of Cards, Blacklist, The Sopranos, Better Call Saul, Pure, and–yes, of course–Game of Thrones (although there are no drug deals in that one–just poisoning). Last year we stumbled upon Yellowstone. It’s got Kevin Cosner playing a ranch owner in Montana. It’s very good with all of the things we love and more. They just began their 2nd season and we’ve been enjoying every episode so far. It airs on the Paramount channel on Wednesday nights @ 8:00pm.
Hope you have a great week!
