A weekly list of things accomplished, enjoyed, learned, tried and remembered.
1.Something New. We’ve had a chair and 1/2 in our family room for several years–it’s where Super Rockstar and I spend our evenings watching our favorite shows and movies. It’s also where he and the boys pile in to watch football or huddle around his phone to enjoy funny videos. But, it became obvious that it needed replacing (I was having to cover up worn out spots by fetchingly accessorizing with decorative blankets). We opted for a loveseat this time because we are not getting any smaller and our boys are most definitely getting bigger. It was a special order so we had to wait several weeks for it to come in. It finally arrived early last week and we are loving it. So big and SO comfy.
2. Book series I’m reading. For those of you that are looking for a good book series–I always have many recommendations (and am always look for more). My favorite, by far, has been Janet Evonovich’s Stephanie Plum series. I’ve read them all and LOVE them. But, the author also has another series that I just started that she co-wrote with Lee Goldberg. It’s all about an FBI agent (O’Hare) who has been pursuing a mastermind thief (Fox). O’Hare captures Fox and he makes a deal to help the FBI in catching bigger criminals. It’s kind of like a cross between the TV show Blacklist and James Bond movies. I’m just starting the 3rd book and have REALLY enjoyed them. Evonovich has a really great writing style–witty, easy to read and characters you can easily relate to and fall in love with.
3. It’s RELENTLESS. Like many of you, we have had the not so great privilege of coming down with a nasty cold bug. For us, it began about two weeks ago and it will NOT go away. I can handle a cold that lasts a couple of days, but this one keeps giving us the illusion that it’s done and then it swings back around for another vicious hit–it’s relentless. I don’t like being sick. I don’t like my family being sick. I REALLY don’t like it when it just goes on and on and on. Our nightstands went from having cute Christmas décor on them to being littered with tissues and whatever cold remedies we can get our hands on. I’ve purchased so many over the last few days–I’m fully expecting the police to show up wanting to search for a meth lab.
4. 1917 Movie. Super Rockstar and I got to have a date night and went to see the movie, 1917. Man, it was GOOD! It is very intense and well.. it’s a war movie, so there’s not many happy feel good moments. But, what a story! I highly recommend it.
I hope you have a great week!
Love the new love seat…really like the large ottoman. I was curious if it had storage too?
Hubby and I have been trying to get to the movies to see 1917, he’s a war history enthusiast. Hoping to soon.
I’m sure you’ve done the disinfectant wipes on all phones , door knobs, fridge handles, all the essential areas…but my doctor reminded me to throw tooth brushes away and use individual toothpaste. He said since we tend to touch tubes with the brush. Hope everyone feels better soon.
It’s not a storage ottoman—our old one was and I miss it . If your husband enjoys war movies—he will LOVE 1917. Such a great story. And thank you for the tip about the toothbrushes—I had forgotten that. We’re on the mend—fingers crossed
