A weekly list of things accomplished, enjoyed, learned, tried and remembered.
1. A life changing vacuum. Ok, that might be a slight exaggeration. But, seriously, my parents gave us a new Dyson D7 cordless vacuum for Christmas and I’m ready to do an infomercial. We recently put wood floors throughout our main floor, so if you have a lot of hard surface flooring–this vacuum is perfect. It’s on a rechargeable battery and I can easily do our whole main level on one charge–it picks up EVERYTHING (especially Barney’s thousands of tiny little hairs) and can twist and turn around every corner. But wait! There’s more! My even boys think it’s fun and have actually been asking to vacuum.
2. A precious movie. We purchased the Disney Channel a couple of months ago (I wrote about that here) and one of the movies they have is one we missed when it was in the theaters. It’s the live action of Lady and the Tramp. It is JUST great. Lady and the Tramp is one of my all time favorite Disney movies anyway–and they did a GREAT job with this version.
3. Date night with the boys. Every couple of months or so Super Rockstar take our boys out on date nights. He will take one and I take the other and it gives us a great opportunity to have some fun and connect in ways that every day family life doesn’t offer. This time it was my turn with Morgan. He chose The Summit Interquest. It’s a really fun bowling/lasertag/arcade place. Saturday night is REALLY crowded and they don’t have much in the way of deals, but we had a great time playing a couple of games of laser tag and several of their arcade games. I love these one on one opportunities with my boys. So often I feel like I’m the “Nurse Ratched” dictator of our family–it’s nice to just go have some fun and hang out.
4. Super Bowl. GO CHIEFS! I am a die hard Cowboys fan, but since I’m a Kansas girl–the Kansas City Chiefs always have a special place in my heart. I am SO excited for all my fellow Kansans that the Chiefs FINALLY made it to the big game after a long, long, LONG drought. Like I said, I’m a Cowboys fan–so I’m well familiar with the waiting, waiting, WAITING to have a team that’s going to make it. (sigh)
I hope you have a great week!
