A weekly list of things accomplished, enjoyed, learned, tried and remembered.
1. Oh what a night! Super Rockstar’s band, SofaKillers got to play at a new venue in town called Boot Barn Hall. Wow–it is NICE! They bring in a lot of signed artists most weeks and there’s a cover charge to get in. The owners decided they also wanted to support the Colorado Springs local band scene too and thanks to our friends Lori and Hal Kenzel–SofaKillers were on the list of bands they wanted to book. Tickets to see SofaKillers sold out within a few days. It was a packed house of close to 500 folks–some regulars, but a lot who had never heard the guys before. They put on an AMAZING show and it was a huge hit. I might be a little biased, but I believe Super Rockstar is an incredible singer and puts on a heck of show!
2. Wuv, true Wuv. I absolutely ADORE my girl, Chelle, more than any other–to call her a best friend or sister doesn’t quite cut it (I wrote about her in a post last year here). She and I are what you call “soul friends”. I am SO so very happy that she found a true love in her man, John. He is a perfect fit for her and I know he will treat her as the amazing queen she is. Their ceremony and reception was SO much fun and Chelle looked absolutely stunning. She treated me and several others to hairdo’s and make up so that we could all feel pretty on her day. But, even with all the extra goop on my face and an extra load of hair spray—nothing can hold a candle to THIS Bride!
3. The Outsider. I’m not sure I would have started watching this show if I would have known what it was all about, but man–it is GOOD! Beware–there are A LOT of disturbing images (especially the first episode) and some pretty creepy stuff. It’s definitely not one for the kiddos. It’s based on a Stephen King novel–so that should tell you all you need to know. Normally, I am not a person that enjoys being scared, but this was more intense than scary. I don’t want to give anything away–but think along the lines of the movie “Fallen”. I think they did a GREAT job with drawing you into the story and I thought it was really well done.
4. Science Fair for Grayson. Grayson got to squeeze in his Science Fair presentation just before they closed the doors to the school for an early spring break. I’m so glad, because he did a great job with his–planting seeds of 3 different types of apples and keeping track of which one sprouted first and grew the most.
5. Spies in Disguise. This is one of those kids movies that we barely even noticed, so when it came out on DVD this past week we were all kind of “meh” about watching it. It is REALLY good. It has some very funny moments and is a great story. I think your whole family–young and old will love it.
I hope you have a great week!
