A weekly list of things accomplished, enjoyed, learned, tried and remembered.
1. Lost Island Adventure. If you are looking for a great local place to have a fantastic time–head to Lost Island Adventure. They are fully open with two fun and challenging miniature golf courses–complete with numerous dinosaurs and even King Kong, an outdoor inflatable park, a large warrior gym ninja course, and an indoor play area. They also have snacks and drinks for sale and a super friendly staff. We didn’t keep official score with the mini golf, but I totally smoked everyone.
2. Breckenridge. We decided to take a last minute end of summer weekend away to our favorite Colorado town–Breckenridge. We have been taking our boys here since they were babies and try to come up every other year or so. This year was a little different because we had to wear masks everywhere–outside and in our hotel (except while we were swimming–thank goodness. And while in our hotel room). But, it was still fun. We got to go see The Breckenridge Troll–Isak Heartstone created by artist Thomas Dambo. It’s only about a 15-20 walk from mid down town and is really impressive. We also got to stay at a nice hotel (rates are so much cheaper in the summer) that had a great swimming pool and several hot tubs. It was just so nice to get away and enjoy our beautiful Colorado scenery.
3. The movies we loved this week. We’ve enjoyed several family movies over the past week including Real Steel–a story about a former boxer (played by Hugh Jackman) who competes in giant robot boxing matches. It’s a really good story with exciting action too. We also watched Eye Spy with Eddie Murphy and Owen Wilson–also very good. Owen Wilson plays a CIA agent and Eddie Murphy plays a famous boxer. They are paired together to catch the bad guys. It’s a little “languagy” at times with some grown up innuendo and scenes that skate the edge a bit, but there’s a lot of great humor and action. I think it’s just fine for tweens and up. A third family movie we watched was The Tuxedo. This is a Jackie Chan movie and has all that there is to love about his movies. It also has some grown up moments that wouldn’t be appropriate for younger viewers, but it’s a really fun story. I loved it.
4. My favorite Memes of this week.
As always, I would love to hear from you. I hope you have a great week!
