A weekly list of things accomplished, enjoyed, learned, tried and remembered.
1.Happy 26 Years! Super Rockstar and I said “I do” 26 years ago on September 3, 1994. We have enjoyed a lot of fun of adventures, but by far the best one has been being parents to our two boys. No one knows how to make me belly laugh harder and I still get all silly girl giggly when he gives me a smooch. Marriage is hard work and we’ve certainly shed our share of tears, but God has blessed us with a great life that we are enjoying immensely.
2. A great holiday camping weekend. This is now our 3rd visit to Castle Lake Campground. It is just the perfect spot for us–two lakes just outside our camper front door to fish in, gorgeous scenery every where you look and most important–there are nice hot showers onsite. My parents joined us this time and we had such a great time hanging out with them, fishing, going for strolls around the lake, and enjoying a couple of nice campfires. We also brought the boys bikes this time–I think they made about 30 laps around the lake and had an absolute blast. If you have an ATV or 4 wheel drive– there are numerous roads to go on including the Alpine Loop (I really hope to try that next time), there are also many hiking and biking trails nearby and the Lake City is only about a 20 minute drive–it has a couple of nice restaurants and some cute shops to peruse through.
3. Happy Birthday Barney! We have had our dog Barney the Beagle for 2 years now so we celebrate his birthday on the day we adopted him–we think he’s around 9 now. We sure love our naps all day, snoring, stubborn, loves his belly scratches, handsome boy.
4. A new show we love. I kept seeing a show pop up on my Netflix page every time I opened the app–it looked so interesting, we had to check it out. It’s called The Umbrella Academy and we have really enjoyed it. I don’t know how to truly describe it–other than to say it’s about 7 siblings who aren’t really siblings, but were adopted and raised by a rich old man who discovered that they had super natural abilities that he helped them develop. Over time they grew apart, but now he has died and the siblings have come back together and now need to join together to stop the apocalypse. Make sense? You’ll just have to watch it. It’s definitely not a show for young kids, but maybe older teenagers might enjoy it. It has a lot of adult situations and there is one homosexual/sometimes cross dressing character who has a serious drug addiction. There are two seasons out and we are about 6 episodes into season 1. I think it’s a very creative story and have really enjoyed it so far.
5. My favorite memes of the week.
As always, I would love to hear from you. I hope you have a great week!
