A weekly list of things accomplished, enjoyed, learned, tried and remembered.
1. Our first snow. Yes it’s still summer. And yes it snowed this week. It was beautiful though–and came at just the perfect time too. We have had several forest fires going on in our state that caused smoke to drift to our city and cover it with an oppressive haze. Getting an nice artic blast cleared the air and was glorious. We enjoyed every second of it.
2. An unusual site. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been on the hunt for Clorox wipes for about 6 months now. I could hardly believe it when I spied some in Walmart this week. I feel like this is the sign we have all been waiting for that the virus is officially coming to an end. I’m just waiting for the press conference where Dr. Fauci says “It’s all over guys, throw your masks away. We have Clorox wipes now. We’re good.”
3. Gig night. Boot Barn Hall has become the go to for SofaKillers gigs. They are one of the few places in town that are providing live music again. It’s a great venue with an incredible atmosphere. I think the guys love it because they get to be on a big stage with a professional light show AND they get a green room to hang out in. It’s a bit of a contrast from most of the places they play that have overcrowded dance floors with a small patch of real estate to cram in a band with all their equipment. They put on a great show and it was a blast.
4. A surprise visit. We had a nice surprise Saturday morning when one of Super Rockstar’s sisters, Christi texted to let us know she and her friend, Jim, were passing through town. It was so good to see them–even for just a few minutes. Of course, we forgot to take pictures, but maybe that’s for the best. We are never at our normal super model selves the day after a gig. Here’s one of she and Super Rockstar from a couple years ago.
5. My favorite memes of the week.
As always, I would love to hear from you. I hope you have a great week!
