A weekly list of things accomplished, enjoyed, learned, tried and remembered.
1. E-Learning…..again. My boys are home for online school again. There was an increase in Covid cases at our school and with each case a two week quarantine for the entire class–teachers and all. It didn’t take long to do the math–there just weren’t enough teachers that were still at the school to teach the in-person classes. So, they decided to shut the whole thing down for two weeks. Sigh. I’m not sure that optimal learning environments include unlimited snack breaks, putting the teacher on mute so you can chat it up with your brother, and having nerf guns and transformers to play with while “listening” to the teacher–but, with only 3 1/2 more weeks of school, I just don’t have it in me to care anymore.
2. Garage Sale Time. Each year we have a garage sale to get rid of all of our junk. In the past, I have waited until mid-summer to have one, but with being home so much this past year (plenty of time to go through closets), our Covid restrictions starting to ease up, and a beautiful weekend–it seemed as good a time as any. I wrote a post a few years ago with my tips on how to have a successful sale (you can read that here). Last week we went to some garage sales. I found a super cute new coat for our dog, Barney. And if you know Barney, you know how much he loves wearing coats. Doesn’t he look so happy and excited?
3. Girls Night. My friend. Patti hosted her monthly Ladies of Age happy hour at View House this week. This is a really cool restaurant/bar that opened a couple of years ago–Super Rockstar’s band, SofaKillers will be playing there later this month. We all tried some rather “girly” looking drinks–that were delicious and enjoyed some good food too. It was so fun to get away from the humdrum of every day life, put on some real clothes (earrings and all) and enjoy chatting it up with some excellent women.
4. What We Watched. Super Rockstar and I began our Dirty Harry journey and we introduced the boys to Sherlock Holmes. Just click the link to read our reviews.
5. My Favorite Memes of the Week.
As always, I would love to hear from you. I hope you have a great week!
