A weekly list of things accomplished, enjoyed, learned, tried and remembered.
1. A Visit From My Sis. My Sister, Stephanie and her husband Todd were passing through this past week and we got to spend a little time with them. I love that even though they couldn’t stay long, we got to catch up and the boys got to do the speed round of showing them every new toy and game they have acquired since seeing them last.
2. A problem to fix. My oldest son, Morgan, who loves Transformers–recently saved up enough money to buy a very expensive one he has been eyeing on E-bay. On the day it arrived, he couldn’t contain his excitement. But, after only about 20 minutes of playing with it–it snapped in half. He was devastated. My heart just ached for him.
Enter Super Rockstar. One of the many things I love about my man he is like Vanilla Ice–If there’s a problem, Yo, he’ll solve it. Even though he didn’t get home until well after midnight (he was playing a gig when this all happened), he got up early and went right to work –spending nearly FOUR hours performing a very delicate surgery. He saved the day and fixed it and our boy was all smiles once again. As Morgan hugged his Daddy tight, thanking him over and over–Super Rockstar just whispered in his ear “This is what Daddy’s do”.
3. Spring Flag Football. Our boys got to enjoy their first flag football game of the spring season and it was awesome. With so many Covid restrictions last fall, we ended up going with i9 Sports and had such a good experience we signed up again. I highly recommend them for kids sports. They are very organized, everyone gets to play and–my favorite–practices and games are back to back on the same day (practice for an hour and play for an hour). Our boys have really improved over the years–Morgan got to play quarterback for most of the game and threw 3 touchdown passes (2 to his brother) and Grayson caught 3 touchdown passes. This is such a far cry from when we started this sport 5 years ago. Back then, they were more interested in counting grass blades and showing off their dance moves.
