A weekly list of things accomplished, enjoyed, learned, tried and remembered.
1.The Scholastic Book Fair Sham–Er Uh Sale. It’s that time of year again–the Scholastic Book Fair. For those without school age children, this is where a large space is set up inside the school for a whole week with books to purchase. But not really just books. It’s books WITH something else: Lego, jewelry, gadgets–everything that entices the child to ooo! and ahhh! The parents are then guilt tripped into spending a small fortune (each teacher has made sure to parade their classroom of kids through the sale area)–because the proceeds go for helping the school and it’s all in the name of literacy. Right.
2. A visit from Mom and Dad. My parents got to come for another visit. Since the boys are playing flag football right now, they wanted to be sure and catch one of their games and they also wanted to be here to celebrate my birthday with me. It’s been a long time since I’ve been with my parents on my birthday–it sure was nice to have them here.
3. My BIRTHDAY! Even though the calendar shows that I am another year older–I loved celebrating my birthday. This year was especially nice because I realized a couple of days before that I wasn’t turning as old as I thought. Bonus! Super Rockstar always does a great job of making me feel special–and this year was no exception. I awoke to streamers and balloons in our kitchen, a scavenger hunt to find my birthday box (the first clue set the tone for the whole thing–haha!) which was filled with cards and so many fun treats and gifts inside–including candy, gift cards, a mani/pedi certificate, new clothes, and my absolute favorite treasure–a silver and turquoise bracelet. We also went to Urban Egg for biscuits and gravy (the absolute BEST) and then got to have an epic Nerf gun battle. And then of course there was cake! I don’t know about you, but that is absolute perfection in my book.
4. What We Watched. The final Dirty Harry movie, another TV show we love and the continuation of the Bourne saga. Just click the link to read our reviews.
5. My Favorite Meme’s of the Week.
As always, I would love to hear from you. I hope you have a great week!
