We are a family that loves movies and TV shows. Each week I’ll share what we watched and what we thought about them. I hope it will give you good insight and even some ideas if you’re stuck finding something new.
1. Enola Holmes 2. This just came out last year and since the boys saw the first one, of course we had to watch the second one. Enola has her own detective agency now and her first case involves finding a missing girl. She discovers there’s a much bigger and much more dangerous conspiracy going on and thanks to big bro Sherlock–they solve the case. It is every bit as delightful–if not more so than the first one. The boys love it too. It is also rated PG-13–again there is no adult situations to worry about (other than low cut gowns that were the fashion of the time period and the continued attraction between Enola and Tewkesberry) and minimal foul language (you can read the parent guide here).
2. Jesus Revolution. All I can say is–go see it. It’s very good. Kelsey Grammer does an excellent job of playing Chuck Smith and I just love John Roumie, who plays Lonnie (known for his role of playing Jesus in The Chosen). I thought the movie does a wonderful job of portraying the social angst of the time and the hippie movement –known for it’s search and pursual of peace and love. So many turned to drugs and other things in their search to find it. This movie shows how a multitude found it in the love of Jesus. It’s rated PG-13–mostly for the portrayal of drugs and alcohol use. But, I liked how they showed that these substances are a bottomless pit. I would definitely let my teenagers watch this movie (you can read the parent guide here).
I would love to hear our opinions and any suggestions you may have of what to watch.
