We are a family that loves movies and TV shows. Each week I’ll share what we watched and what we thought about them. I hope it will give you good insight and even some ideas if you’re stuck finding something new.
1.Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One. Three words: Go. See. It. It’s far the best Mission Impossible yet and we plan to catch it again while it’s still in theaters. I won’t give any spoilers except that someone asked me if Tom Cruise runs a lot in this one and the answer is–yes, he does. A lot. It’s rated PG-13. There is no sexual content (other than a club scene where the dancers are wearing bodysuits), the violence is a lot of killing the bad guys–but no blood or gore, there’s barely any curse language, and though the action is intense–it makes you feel like you’re on a thrilling roller coaster (you can read the parent guide here).
2. The Bad Guys. This is such a good movie, and we were excited that our theater had chosen it for one of the summer big screen showings. It’s about a gang of bad guy animals that get caught. Rather than going to prison, a do-good gopher believes he can rehabilitate them to become good guys. The characters are great, and the story is fantastic. It’s rated PG.
3. Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan–TV Series. The new and final season was recently released and as Super Rockstar and I started watching the first couple of episodes, we realized we couldn’t really remember much of the previous storylines and characters. So, we decided to start with season 1 and binge watch all the episodes. It is really, really good. We have always loved all of the movies based on this character (Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, The Sum of All Fears, and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit) and we love this TV series. You can stream it on Prime, it’s rated TV-MA, and there are 4 seasons total.
I would love to hear our opinions and any suggestions you may have of what to watch.
