We are a family that loves movies and TV shows. Each week I’ll share what we watched and what we thought about them. I hope it will give you good insight and even some ideas if you’re stuck finding something new.
1. Argylle. This is a new movie in the theaters right now and is absolutely wonderful! It is about an author who has written a series of spy novels called Argylle and unbeknownst to her–her storyline has hit too close to home with a real situation going on. Now she is on the run and a real life spy is helping her. There is so much more to the story and it such a fun, laugh out loud funny, adventure movie. It bounces back and forth between her fictional characters and real life and we all loved it. It’s rated PG-13 (you can read the parent guide here).
2. Big Game. This is a movie from 2014 starring Samuel L. Jackson. He plays the President of the United States and is on his way to a summit when Air Force One is shot down by terrorists. His rescue pod lands in the wilderness where the terrorists plan to capture him, but a young boy who is out on a solo hunting trip to prove his maturity– finds him first. Then it’s a race against time trying to outwit the terrorists and get the President to safety. We really enjoyed it. It’s rated PG-13 (you can read the parent guide here).
3. The Legend of Tarzan. When this popped up as a possibility on Prime Video–I couldn’t believe there was a Tarzan movie I hadn’t seen. It’s from 2016 and is the story of how John Clayton (Tarzan) must go back to the jungle where he was raised by animals to investigate suspicious activity in regard to mining going on in the area. He and his wife Jane arrive to find that it is he that is being lured into a trap. It’s really good and we enjoyed it. It’s rated PG-13 (you can read the parent guide here).
I would love to hear your opinions and any suggestions you may have of what to watch.
