We are a family that loves movies and TV shows. Each week I’ll share what we watched and what we thought about them. I hope it will give you good insight and even some ideas if you’re stuck finding something new.
1.The Fall Guy. Super Rockstar and I got to see this in the theater last week. It’s based on an old TV show from the 80’s that was all about a stunt man who moonlighted as a bounty hunter (it starred Lee Major). In this movie–Ryan Gossling plays the stunt man, Colt Seavers. He has a terrible accident and is called back into the business when his ex-girlfriend, Jody (played by Emily Blunt)–who is now directing her first film –can’t find the stunt man and main actor for her film. It’s a really fun story, great action and we LOVED it. It’s rated PG-13 (you can read the parent guide here).
2. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. I love it when Prime pops up suggestions for movies that you had watched, loved, but then forgotten about. This came out in 2015 and stars Henry Cavill as a CIA agent, Napolean Solo. It’s set in the 1960’s and he extracts a young woman from East Germany because her uncle has important information about potential nuclear bombs being built. Solo is forced to team up with a KGB agent because both their countries need them to stop a potential nuclear threat. It’s a fun movie and story. It’s rated PG-13 (you can read the parent guide here).
3. Firefly. If you know anything at all about Super Rockstar, he is always looking for a good outer space movie or show to watch. There aren’t any good new ones right now, but it’s been many years since we’ve binge watched one of our all-time favorites. If you have never seen Firefly–I can’t recommend it highly enough. It’s space travel meets the old west with a sprinkling of Chinese. I promise it works and it’s wonderful. It’s rated TV-14.
I would love to hear your opinions and any suggestions you may have of what to watch.
