We are a family that loves movies and TV shows. Each week I’ll share what we watched and what we thought about them. There are links to IMdb.com where you can find descriptions, trailers, and all the information you need about the movie. I also include links to their parent guide for what we watch with our children (PG-13 and above). Pluggedin.com is also a great resource to learn more about the content of movies, tv shows, games, books, and YouTube channel.
1. Madagascar Movies: Madagascar (Rated PG–Parents Guide), Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (Rated PG–Parents Guide), Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted (Rated PG–Parents Guide), Penguins of Madagascar (Rated PG-Parents Guide). We are enjoying re-watching a lot of our favorite animated movies that the boys enjoyed when they were much younger. The Madagascar movies are just so awesome-with great characters and fun stories. We all highly recommend them. There are 4 to enjoy–including one that just features the Penguins –my personal favorite characters. “Smile and waves boys. Smile and wave.”
2. Transformers One. (Rated PG–Parents Guide). Certain movies are ‘theater worthy’ and this is definitely one of them. It is so good! My boys are long time Transformers fans, and this one met and exceeded their hopes and expectations for the story, the animation, and the characters. Even if you know nothing about Transformers, go see it. It’s an origin story–so they explain a lot. Plus, it’s such an enjoyable movie. Super Rockstar and I really loved it too and I highly recommend seeing it in the theater if you can.
3. Ice Age Movies: Ice Age (Rated PG–Parents Guide), Ice Age: The Melt Down (Rated PG–Parents Guide), Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (Rated PG–Parents Guide), Ice Age: Continental Drift (Rated PG–Parents Guide), Ice Age: Collision Course (Rated PG–Parents Guide). This was another trip down memory lane as we re-watched all 5 of these wonderful movies. I had never seen the 3rd one before–so it was a fun new adventure for me. All of them are such unique, fun stories, with loveable characters–my personal favorite is Sid.
4. The Expanse (Rated TV-14–Parents Guide). Super Rockstar LOVES a good space movie. And if it’s a TV series about space–he gets downright giddy. The problem is that there isn’t much we haven’t seen already, so we decided to re-watch a series from a few years ago. It is really, really good. Such a creative story, great action, the sets and CGI are really impressive and there are 6 seasons to enjoy. We highly recommend this series–whether space shows are your thing or not.
That’s all for now. I would love to hear your opinions and any suggestions you may have of what to watch. Tune in next week.
