We are a family that loves movies and TV shows. Each week I’ll share what we watched and what we thought about them. I hope it will give you good insight and even some ideas if you’re stuck finding something new.
1.Red Notice. Super Rockstar and I got to enjoy a date night and see this in the theater. It was worth every. single. cent. It has Dwayne Johnson as an FBI profiler, Ryan Reynolds as a great art thief and Gal Gadot as the most wanted art thief known only as ‘the Bishop’. I absolutely loved it. There is great action, a fun story and it is laugh out loud funny. It’s rated PG-13, but I won’t let my boys watch it. Ryan Reynold’s character makes a lot of inappropriate inuendo and commentary. The language is also pretty foul at times (you can read the parent guide here). But, for grown ups–I highly recommend it.
2. The Dark Knight. My older son, Morgan has had a fascination with the Joker character from Batman for as long as I can remember. He has been begging us for years to watch this movie. We’ve held off on letting our boys watch this series because they all have a rather dark element to them and can be pretty violent and twisted at times. Since he is in high school now–we relented. It is a really good movie and Heath Ledger plays Joker brilliantly. It’s rated PG-13 –there’s a lot of darkness, Joker is very psychotic and the scene where one of the characters becomes Two Face is pretty disturbing. Overall, I think it’s ok for middle school/high school (you can read the parent guide here) Morgan was just thrilled to finally get to see it and he highly recommends it.
3. Yellowstone–Season 4. Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! It’s FINALLY here! Squeal! Season 4 of Yellowstone. If you have not watched this series–go straight to your favorite streaming sight and order it right now. It is FABULOUS! It’s all about a ranch called Yellowstone in Montana run by the Dutton family (Kevin Coster plays the main character–John Dutton). There are so many groups of people trying to take their land from them (or give it back as the local Indian tribe believes). There’s a lot of drama and action. The daughter, Beth Dutton, is my hero–tough as nails, don’t mess with her, foul mouthed and bad$%#. This show is not appropriate for kids of any age–a lot of adult situations, violence, some nudity, and the foul language is ridiculous. But, I’m an adult–so I can make my own choices. Right? (Lord forgive me–I do love this show). Right now the 4th season is streaming–the first two episodes are available with new ones airing every Sunday. It is SO good!
I would love to hear your opinions and any suggestions you may have of what to watch.
