We are a family that loves movies and TV shows. Each week I’ll share what we watched and what we thought about them. I hope it will give you good insight and even some ideas if you’re stuck finding something new.
1.Ghostbusters Afterlife. We loved it. Our boys loved it. My parents loved it. We saw it twice and….we loved it again. It’s rated PG-13 and has some scary images–so I don’t recommend for littles (you can read the parent guide here). Go see it at the movie theater–you’ll be so happy you did.
2. Those Who Wish Me Dead. This was a pretty good movie. It has Angelina Jolie playing a forest survival expert who fights fires and is tasked with overwatch. She encounters a young boy who is on the run after witnessing his father’s murder. The bad guys are after him now because he knows too much. She is racing to get him and herself to safety in the midst of a raging wild fire. It’s rated R, so I don’t recommend it for kids. We really liked it–good action and a good story too.
3. The Matrix. Super Rockstar and I decided to re-watch all of the original Matrix movies since there is a new one coming out later this month. I had forgotten so much about the story–it’s been a bit like watching them for the first time. In this first one–the main character, Neo swallows the red pill and is introduced to the Matrix. He finds out that life as he knows it has not been real at all–but a simulation. The reality is that machines have taken over the world and use humans (all kept in womb like cells) to survive and thrive. He and the others that have been “awoken” are battling against the machines. I had forgotten how much the story line hurts my brain. But, I like it. It’s rated R–so not for kiddos.
4. The Matrix Reloaded. In this one Neo is discovering more about the matrix and his powers within it. He, Trinity and Morpheus continue their battle against the machine army. It’s also rated R and not for kids. There’s great action and fight scenes, but the story line still hurts my brain.
I would love to hear your opinions and any suggestions you may have of what to watch.
