We are a family that loves movies and TV shows. Each week I’ll share what we watched and what we thought about them. I hope it will give you good insight and even some ideas if you’re stuck finding something new.
1.The Blacklist. This TV show is one of our absolute favorites–it’s in its 8th season now. James Spader plays the main character, Raymond Reddington and he is just brilliant at it. He’s #1 on the FBI’s most wanted list, turned himself in and is now working with them to help catch the world’s worst criminals. My only disappointment is that this season has focused WAY too much on a side story. I wish the writers would remember the reason this show is so awesome is because of the main character. If you need a show to binge watch and haven’t yet checked this one out–you will absolutely love it.
2. The Dead Pool. This is the final Dirty Harry movie. Of all of them, I think I like this one the best–for a few reasons. First, his partner doesn’t get killed. Hurt, yes. But, not killed. Second, I liked the plot of this one. It is about a horror movie director (played by Liam Neeson) who keeps a dead pool list –it’s a list he and some of his crew have of celebrities they think will die that year. Someone has found a copy of his list and is actually killing them all off. The first to die is the singer in a music video he is directing–who is played by Jim Carry. And finally, there is a high speed chase involving a remote control car chasing a regular car. It’s fantastic. It’s rated R–so not one for the kiddos.
3. The Bourne Ultimatum. We continued the Bourne movie binge with our boys and this is the third one in the series. Jason Bourne (played by Matt Damon) is still searching for answers about his past and those responsible for his past are still out to kill him. Once again there is a lot of intense drama and great action. The boys liked this one best of all so far. There are some curse words and a lot of fight scenes, but it’s definitely age appropriate for tween/teen (you can read the parent info here).
I would love to hear your opinions and any suggestions you may have of what to watch.
