I stumbled across this recipe when I was looking for new ways to cook chicken. It is absolutely delicious and pretty easy to make too.
Ingredients
Method
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees
- Combine the paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt in a small bowl. Sprinkle the spice mixture on both sides of the chicken. Wrap 2 slices of bacon around each chicken breast, without overlapping. Place on a rimmed baking sheet, tucking the loose ends of the bacon under the chicken.
- Bake on the lower oven rack until the chicken and bacon are cooked through, about 25 minutes. Switch the oven to broil. Brush the chicken and bacon with the maple syrup. Broil on the upper rack until the bacon is crispy. 2 to 3 minutes.
- The ingredients. I used two chicken breasts and sliced them in half because they were so thick.

2. Mix the spices. Just dump them in a bowl and shake them up (pro tip: put a lid on the bowl before shaking them up.)

3. Sprinkle the spices on the chicken. I like to sprinkle and then rub them in with my hands. Be sure to wash your hands after.

3, Wrap the bacon around the chicken. It seems so simple, but it took me a few tries to get the bacon to stay in place.

4. Bake at 400 degrees for about 25 minutes (until chicken and bacon are cooked through). At 25 minutes, I didn’t think it looked cooked enough, so I went about 5 minutes more. Just use your best judgement or take it out and cut into the chicken–if it’s still pink, keep baking.

5. Brush the chicken and bacon with maple syrup. Take the pan out of the oven and switch your oven to the broil setting while you brush the maple syrup on the chicken.

6. Broil on upper rack for 2-3 minutes until bacon is crispy. If your oven is like mine, the broil setting always equates to lots of smoke billowing out when I open the oven–especially with bacon being involved. So be ready to turn off your smoke detector and air out your kitchen.

7. Enjoy. I served the chicken with some chicken flavored rice, steamed green beans, and some rolls. My family (and I) LOVED it.
