May is always one of my favorite months of the year–school ends and summer break begins, Mother’s Day is always in May, and most importantly so is my birthday. Here’s what all we did and enjoyed.
1.Last Choir Concert. Grayson performed in his last choir concert of the school year and did a great job. He even had a couple of solo parts.

2. May Snow. It’s a fact of living in Colorado–snow comes when it wants to and how much it wants to. It rarely (if ever) comes at Christmas, the weather forecasters almost always get it wrong (if they predict a lot, you will get little and vice-a-versa), and we almost always get large heavy amounts in April all the way through May (there’s even been some in June). Since we didn’t get much moisture over the winter, this early May dumping was much appreciated.

3. Last Day of School and Beginning of Summer Fun. Grayson finished his Junior year! I still can’t believe he’s going to be a Senior in the fall. But I can’t think about that right now or I will have an emotional break down. And Morgan finished his online college classes. Both boys did great. I always have summer fun stuff ready for the first day of summer break. This year–it was bubble guns, a lawn game that is already broken, some ice-cream and popsicle treats and new some new summer shoes. We also headed to Walmart to get some other summer necessities. Morgan was working, but Super Rockstar, Grayson and I had fun. I mean, who doesn’t need nice hats for all that summer heat?

5. Quick Kansas Trip. I made a quick solo trip to Kansas to see my folks. My Mom has been a little down and out health wise this past year and they were unable to make their usual spring trip to Colorado. I hadn’t seen them face to face since Christmas and decided I really needed to. I enjoyed just hanging out with them, doing a little yard work, and eating a lot of good food.

6. Mother’s Day. I got back just in time for my men to spoil me for Mother’s Day–going to church, enjoying a day of lazing around, and grilling some steaks for dinner. Perfect.
7. My Birthday. I love all of our birthday traditions. One of my favorites are the homemade cards we always make each other. Morgan’s are always thoughtful and heartfelt words, Grayson’s are always elaborate creations, and Super Rockstar? Well, this year it was definitely creative. Watch the video he made of me reading it. He posted it on Instagram, and it has gone viral–over 7 million views as of this writing. Yes, he’s still alive. Barely though. I had a great day of going for a hike with Super rockstar, doing a scavenger hunt for my gifts, going out to dinner, having ice cream cake and being spoiled all day. We even got to have a water gun fight (one of my gifts).

8. Air Force Academy Graduation Flyovers (sort of). Super Rockstar’s workplace always hosts a BBQ on their grounds for all the staff to watch the Thunderbirds fly over after the Air Force Academy graduation. Last year we missed it because Super Rockstar was booked to play a gig. The whole thing got rained out and there weren’t any fly overs. This year we attended the work BBQ (minus Morgan–he had to work), but the Thunderbirds only flew over a couple of times–there were just too many low hanging clouds. Oh well maybe next year will be better.

9. Books I read. I got to enjoy another Sue Graffton–this time P is for Peril. I really liked this one a lot. It revolved around a missing husband whose ex-wife hires Kinsey to find out what happened to him. So many great twists and turns.

10. Movies and Shows to Watch–Episode 112. Just click the link to read about all we watched in May.
11. My Favorite Memes.

That’s all for May. I would say that summer is here, but in our state–we say that summer is on its way eventually. It never seems to know when to show up and is undecided about if it’s going to stick around.
