The month of March always has been and always will be one of the busiest months of the year at the Glenn house. Both of my boys were born in March–our oldest on the 21st and youngest on the 30th. 2 years and 9 days apart. That in and of itself is a lot, but then there’s Spring Break. Oh yeah, and track season has begun for Grayson. And also, both boys are working now and neither one of them driving. So yes–I get to play taxi driver to all. Am I whining? Yes. Yes, I am. But added to all of the usual chaos was Super Rockstar traveling out of the country. March was a lot of crazy busy, but there was so much good and so much fun in it all.
1. Choir Concert. Grayson got to participate in another choir concert. His group, The Thorzmen, sang with the larger collective group of all the choirs. It was a very enjoyable evening.

2. Birthday Boy #1. Morgan is 19. I need to take a moment to pause on that one. My oldest is now in his last year as a teenager. I have no idea how that is even possible. We had such a great day celebrating him–doing all of our family birthday traditions. He got to enjoy birthday donuts–Little Debbie Chocolate donuts for breakfast. He then did a scavenger hunt of 19 clues to find his birthday box–which was packed full of his favorite treats, snacks and drinks along with several gifts. He loves Transformers and received two from his brother and one from us. He also is building a YouTube channel set up and got a keyboard that will help him with gaming. He got to spend his whole day just relaxing and loved it. And then we took him to his favorite restaurant for dinner–Ai Sushi & Grill. It’s a hibachi steakhouse and it was DELICIOUS! The day ended with us watching a movie he had long been requesting to see–John Wick. He loved it. And then, of course, there was birthday cake. Happy Birthday Morgan! We are so stinkin proud of the young man you are and can’t wait to see all the ways God will bless you this coming year.

3. Super Rockstar Reads to Kids AND Takes a Trip to Peru.
It was time for Super Rockstar’s annual read to kids at a local elementary school for their Dr. Seuss Day. He’s been doing this for over 2o years and absolutely loves it.

He hasn’t had to travel for his work in a long while. But unfortunately, he had to go to Peru during the entirety of our boy’s spring break. Overall, he had a really good trip and enjoyed hanging out with some wonderful co-workers that most he only knows through zoom meetings.

4. Spring Break. It was a weird spring break with Super Rockstar being gone and the rest of us being home, but we kept pretty busy. Morgan got to work several shifts and earn some money.
Grayson got to meet up with a friend that lives on a small ranch and rode a horse for the first time.

And then the boys and I went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo for the first time in a millennia. I don’t know when we’ve seen so many of the animals out and about. The boys enjoyed the nostalgia of it all. I kept getting swept back to so many moments in my memory of when they were much much smaller. We had a great time.

We also got to binge watched almost all the Harry Potter movies–which are always a favorite of mine. But we sure missed Super Rockstar.
5. Birthday Boy #2. Grayson is 17. The same disbelief I shared above about Morgan goes double for Grayson. How did this happen so fast? I can’t seem to account for the time. Grayson has always struggled being the 2nd born (as most 2nd born do–I am one too) — but not only is he younger, his birthday comes 9 whole days after his older brother. Oh, the agony of it all. But it finally came and he had a great day. We let him take the day off school, so he got to sleep in (a favorite of his), he ate ALL of his birthday donuts (sharing some with Morgan), did his scavenger hunt for his birthday box and loved seeing all the treats, snacks, and drinks and tearing open all of his gifts. His brother gave him a version of a favorite Transformer: Soundwave, which he absolutely loved. He had asked for a particular Lego set–which we got for him and then we surprised him with a big set he wasn’t expecting. I don’t think there is more of a thrill for me as a parent than genuinely surprising my boys with something they want that they didn’t know they would get. He spent his entire day building Lego and then we ended with going out to Longhorn Steakhouse for dinner, having some birthday cake, and watching John Wick 4. He was spoiled rotten and he knew it.

6. Books I Read. This month it was Sue Grafton’s N is for Noose. I’ll be honest, the title never did really make much sense to me. It was ok. I love her writing style and she is a master at scene setting and character descriptions. I feel like I know what everything looks, feels, and smells like. But the story for this one, wasn’t my favorite–I think because it seemed to drag with too much and stalled to get to the action. I’d give it a B-.

8. Movies and Shows to Watch–Episode 109 and Episode 110. Just click he links to read about what we watched in February and March.
9. My Favorite Memes.

Like I said–it was a lot. I would say that I can just breathe a sigh of relief and sit back and coast for a minute, but April is looking like it might be just as busy if not more so. Sigh.
