Recipe–Shish Kabobs

Shish Kabob Marinade

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 Cup Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 Cup Ketchup
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1 tsp Ground Ginger
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder

Method
 

  1. Whisk all ingredients together.
  2. Place meat in a ziplock bag and add about half the mixture and shake it up.
  3. Refrigerate in marinade for 2 hours or more.
  4. Assemble vegetable skewers using whatever vegetables you want (squash, bell pepper, onion, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, etc)
  5. Assemble meat skewer after 2 hours of marinating.
  6. Brush vegetable skewers with remaining marinade.
  7. Grill until meat is cooked through and vegetables are tender. Brush on more marinade if needed.

This is a really good marinade for shish kabobs. It can be used for chicken, beef, shrimp or all of them together.

1. The ingredients for the marinade.

2. Whisk all together. Place cut up meat of your choice in zip locks and add about half the marinade. Shake it up and refrigerate for 2 hours or more.

3. Assemble vegetable and meat skewers. Brush leftover marinade on vegetable skewers.

4. Grill until meat is cooked through and vegetables are tender.

5. Enjoy!

We enjoyed it with some wild rice and salad. It would also be really good as an Asian themed dish with fried rice.
